USERS AND CARRIERS FACE THE BIGGEST CRISIS. The lack of fuel, the age of the vehicles and a destroyed road leave Venezuelans with few means of transportation. According to experts consulted by HumVenezuela, 70% of the vehicle fleet is out of service.

MURKY IS THE WATER CONSUMED IN VENEZUELA. The collapsed systems and the public perception allow us to infer that, according to international standards, the lack of potable water makes Venezuela one of the countries with the greatest setbacks in the commitments to guarantee water quality. Only in Caracas 92% of citizens consume high-risk water.

VENEZUELAN HOUSEHOLDS COUNT TO THE LAST DROP OF WATER. Four out of every 100 citizens in Venezuela have to travel a kilometer or more to obtain water, because the system collapsed in the last 20 years and today it works only with 40% of its capacity. Only 25% of people receive continuous water through the pipes at home, and nine out of 100 never receive it.

The first OVSP survey in 2021 showed that 8.4% of Venezuelans never receive water through pipes; 65.9% suffer from rationing and the other 25% of those consulted – the minority – said they always receive it. Among the nearly 66% of those who sometimes receive water, 21% have access twice a month or less.

THE STATE COMPANY PDVSA DISTRIBUTES ALL THE GAS PRODUCED IN VENEZUELA

GAS IN FREE FALL. Around four million families have to cook with firewood in the eighth largest reserve country in the world. The state-owned Petroleos de Venezuela, PDVSA, receives and distributes all the gas produced in the country, including the one that comes from private companies. The specialist Antero Alvarado explains to HumVenezuela why there is no gas and only 25% of the demand for bottles for domestic use is satisfied.

ONLY 29% OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CAPACITY IS IN OPERATION. Venezuela has a huge electrical infrastructure, but is disabled in more than two thirds. Despite forced migrations, the collapse of industrial production and trade, which have reduced demand, the system has to resort to rationing and cannibalization of the energy produced by the El Guri hydroelectric plant to satisfy the whole country.
