Annual and year-on-year inflation

Percentage variation in the Consumer Price Index in a twelve-month period. The variation of the CPI between December of two successive years is known as annual inflation, while for the rest of the months it is called inter-annual inflation. This variation can be calculated for the general price level or each of the CPI divisions.
